Peer Tutoring

The Intranet Version

Any student can participate in the program that consists of asynchronous tutoring via e-mail correspondence with a trained, peer tutor; scheduled, real time group tutoring via a chat room; a Message Board where students can post questions and answers to other students and where reference materials can be posted.

Requirements to Participate:
Participating in this program requires that students be as prepared as possible to fully engage in their own learning. Assigned reading must be completed, and specific questions and problems must be prepared. Students should have attempted to work through homework on their own before participating in tutoring. Tutoring will not transpire if these requirments are not met. Students should bring to their tutorial a genuine willingness to work.

Tutors can not and will not do students' assignments!!!


A tutors role in to encourage students to become independant learners. Tutors will show students how to integrate effective study techniques, and will help them acquire skills to integrate how to learn with what to learn by such methods as assisting students to read for understanding and so on...
