My job is to orchestrate and facilitate, making sure the scheduled tasks all
dovetail and enforce one another, that skills are practiced through activity, the students are
allowed to think in ways that are both familiar and comfortable for them.
There is a permanent target for me, as a teacher, that students would know what they need to complete
and can move from one to the other in a kind of narrative form that echoes the way encounter
most information outside of the classroom.
I don't have any assumption that what's being said or read or narrated in the classroom is exactly
what's being understood. Everyone is not assumed to be constructing the same knowledge at
exactly the same moment.
My students can arrange time within the constrains of their own narrative structures.
