The virtual classroom and distance learning are a functional reality in the present, not a distant dream of the future. Therefore, an online communication will complement our face-to-face classroom discussion and activity during the school year.
The virtual classroom also will extend learning beyond the conventional classroom limitations of time and space — we can meaningfully communicate about scholarly endeavors without being in the same place at the same time.
We will meet in chat rooms for a real time discussion.
We will use forums and bulletin boards for posting questions and
statements.
We will use interactive worksheets for improving basic math
skills.
We will take quizzes and tests online.
This measure of flexibility can enhance quality of life, enabling us to work with and around personal commitments and considerations.
Keep in mind that poor lines may interfere with communication, servers can go down, hard disks crash, and systems may fail. However, in spite of all these real-world difficulties, the virtual classroom has the ability to reach everybody, as well as the power to capture - our imagination.
